How it all began

Our story

  • Mac Electrical was founded in 2009 by Ray McDonald, and later rebranded to Mac Electric & Power Generation Co. Mr. McDonald, the company's Operation Manager, began his electrical career as an apprentice in 1999. In his early 20's (while working as an electrical foreman on several high-end homes that were being built on Paradise Island) Mr. McDonald decided that his career goal was to become a Professional Electrical Engineer. Mr. McDonald is a Power Systems Specialist, who holds a 3 Phase Electrical Contractor License. He is also a factory-certified Generac Power Systems Technician, a Certified International Project Manager.

  • He has also obtained other construction management and/or technical certifications throughout his career. His goal was clear: own and operate an electrical contracting firm; design electrical power and communication systems for buildings and communities - with a keen focus on: energy, automation, and power generation. Simply put, what began as an interest in high school, turned into a professional electrical career across the construction industry over 20+ years.
